It’s officially been two weeks! In some ways it seems longer than that and at other times it seems shorter. It’s strange to not have our weeks planned out yet (as we had this past year) and to just take each day and all that is required as it comes. There is so much paperwork to do (in Spanish we talk about the many “vueltas” or errands that we have to do each day) in order to get reestablished in the country and city. We have a car and we are in the process of applying to rent an apartment. The boys are in a transitional period at their new school and it has been a great transition.

This past Sunday we had the privilege of visiting the first Covenant Church that Julio and I served at together after we were married, which is just south of Medellin in the municipality of Itagui. Pastor Jorge is a good friend and mentor and it was a joy to visit the church and see so many familiar faces, as well as so many new faces. They have a thriving small group ministry and continue to reach out into their community. When we were first married Julio helped to teach the adolescents and I was one of the elementary school Sunday school teachers. Wow, how amazing now to see these “kids” grown up and serving in the church and using their professions to serve others. We first met Andrea when she was in Jr. High and now she’s a lawyer in Medellin. It was a time of reconnecting with people and sharing a bit of what God has placed on our heart as Julio preached.

The church worked very hard to build a new sanctuary and it's great to see it packed and people worshipping together
