PRAYER FOR GRANDMA TAN<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Appointment 6<\/strong>: Monday, July 23, 2012, Kristi and I will be going with grandma Tan and Nat to the doctor appointment. \u00a0At worship Saturday night, Kristi wondered if having foreigners go with them might give them better service. \u00a0We truly don\u2019t know what will happen or even what the truth is regarding Tan\u2019s biopsy. \u00a0This has been a very discouraging time as we keep crying out to God on Tan\u2019s behalf. Nat is pretty wasted and yet, finds much solace in the Psalms which she tries to share with her mom.<\/p>\n

Pray that Tan would meet God in this desperate time she if facing. \u00a0She currently wants to give up, go home and be with her family to die.<\/p>\n

Pray that whatever the truth is regarding Tan\u2019s physical condition, God would intervene and bring healing to her body as a testimony to His hand upon her life.<\/p>\n

Pray that Nat would not lose heart but also know God\u2019s love and care upon her life.<\/p>\n

When it seems the darkest, the light shines even brighter. \u00a0God is in this situation and we pray that Tan\u2019s eyes would be opened and she would experience the power of God\u2019s love for her.<\/p>\n

Isaiah 42:16 \u00a0I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into\u00a0light\u00a0before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Appointment 6 (actual appt): <\/strong>\u00a0Affirmed malignant tumor and because of it’s considerable growth since the scans done in Tan’s provincial hospital a month ago, the doctor ordered further tests to be down in two days to see how much it has affected her left eye and nerves over her sinus area. \u00a0The doctors are \u00a0now ready to do surgery and radiation. \u00a0There was so much waiting today and we had many opportunities to pray with Tan during this time. \u00a0She was in lot of pain and was sick all the way to the hospital and on the way home. \u00a0(a humbling side, she was sure that her queasiness was due to my driving and didn’t want to go to the next appointment in my car)<\/p>\n

Appointment 7: \u00a0<\/strong>As long as it took to see all the different eye doctors (5 total) we felt \u00a0thankful for the different tests they did and the end result was although Tan’s eye sight is getting blurry, the cancer has not gone into her eye area. \u00a0We are thankful…At the end of the day, surgery was set for August 14, 2012. \u00a0We asked why the wait since the cancer was progressing so rapidly and the answer was that there were so many other patients in line for similar medical needs. \u00a0During this time Kristi sent a text that she requested prayer from all her friends, family and Covenant home office and when Tan heard this news she began to cry. \u00a0She knows she is loved! \u00a0We now pray that the cancer will be held in check and that we can get the right pain medication for Tan over these next 3 weeks. \u00a0We go tomorrow to get different pain medication (the queasiness was due to an allergic reaction to the very strong pain meds she was getting). \u00a0As I prayed this day I saw Tan as the center spoke of her family and the light of Jesus beaming out from out of her life. \u00a0I told her my vision and I asked her to give all her trust to Jesus. \u00a0 \u00a0May our Father be glorified through this journey in Nat’s family and may Tan experience the love of her Savior.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

No Other Gods Before Me<\/span><\/h2>\n

In desperation this young boy\u2019s folks did whatever would cure their son. \u00a0The mom went to the temple to offer sacrifices, the dad wore two amulets around his neck and the son had one around his, as well. \u00a0They asked their sisters at ALC to pray to God for them\u2026 \u00a0San told them to trust in God and God alone. \u00a0Another sister called them and prayed for them and asked them to take the little faith they had and believe God for healing for their son. \u00a0When we went to the hospital to visit, the young boy had no amulet on him. He was recognizing everyone, able to remember events and talk as normal. \u00a0It was a wonderful time of rejoicing.<\/p>\n

He went back home and a week later, the symptoms reappeared. \u00a0He is now in the provincial hospital again and we pray that this family would choose to believe and trust in God for their son\u2019s welfare.<\/p>\n

Joshua 24:15 \u00a0But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then\u00a0choose\u00a0for yourselves\u00a0this\u00a0day\u00a0whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
