Ambwa gave to the 19 participants at the closing of the recent CHE <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/candle-lit-640x480.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-2679\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/candle-lit-640x480-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"candle lit [640x480]\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>(Community Health Evangelism) training.\u00a0 Truly that a key CHE principle and teaching\u00a0 \u2013 those who have been trained are to be a light in their community and to pass on to their neighbors what they have learned.\u00a0 As a symbolic reminder during the closing worship that we are the light of the world, our villages, each of the participants lit a candle while we sang and prayed.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/Mama-Tengene-lighting-her-cancle-640x480.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-2681\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/Mama-Tengene-lighting-her-cancle-640x480-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Mama Tengene lighting her cancle [640x480]\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>December 1-5, 19 representatives from the Olosan, Banga Kungu, Bodokola, Bokonzo and Bobadi church regions attended the Training Of Trainers 2 (TOT2) in Gemena.\u00a0 After a day of review of the lessons in TOT1, which most had attended almost 2 years earlier, the new material of TOT2 started.\u00a0 Dr. Delphin Kapasa and M.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2689\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/Delphin-presenting-640x480.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2689\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-2689\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/Delphin-presenting-640x480-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Delphin teaching\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2689\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Delphin teaching<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Adamon Tumbula, CHE trainers in Kinshasa, came to lead the training.\u00a0 Having never gone through TOT2 before ourselves we participated with the others. Excellent.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2687\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/vote-w-leaves-on-mjor-obstacles-640x480.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2687\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2687\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/vote-w-leaves-on-mjor-obstacles-640x480-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"we used leaves to vote for the obstacles we thought were the biggest impediments on the road to development\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/vote-w-leaves-on-mjor-obstacles-640x480-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/vote-w-leaves-on-mjor-obstacles-640x480.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2687\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">we used leaves to vote for the obstacles we thought were the biggest impediments on the road to development<\/p><\/div>\n<p>During the training we also heard testimonies of changes that have already taken place in the participants\u2019 villages.\u00a0 There are more toilets and more people are washing their hands regularly.\u00a0 For hand washing more are pouring water over hands rather than washing them in one common basin.\u00a0 An encouraging result is that in some places there has begun to be a change in the mentality of the villagers.\u00a0 This is a reminder of another key CHE objective \u2013 seeing a change in the mentality of the local population.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2680\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/giving-flowers-after-presentation-640x480.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2680\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2680\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/giving-flowers-after-presentation-640x480-300x231.jpg\" alt=\"giving &quot;flowers&quot; after a presentation as a way of showing appreciation\" width=\"300\" height=\"231\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/giving-flowers-after-presentation-640x480-300x231.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2014\/12\/giving-flowers-after-presentation-640x480.jpg 503w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2680\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">giving &#8220;flowers&#8221; after a presentation as a way of showing appreciation<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We ask for prayer for each of the participants as they return to their villages and begin to share what they learned with their families, neighbors and church leaders.\u00a0 After the holidays Rev.
