The terraced farmland around there is beautiful. I was continuously fascinated by the terraces on the steep land. We also saw creative inter-cropping systems: coffee with beans growing under it, corn and other crops.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1004\" style=\"width: 394px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1004\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1004 \" title=\"farming on terraces\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2010\/11\/farming-on-terraces1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"384\" height=\"288\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1004\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Farming on Terraces<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">We had a short worship with some of the Kandara members.\u00a0\u00a0 Many could not be there because it was mid-day and they were working.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1007\" style=\"width: 378px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1007\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1007 \" title=\"Alberto speaking\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2010\/11\/Alberto-speaking.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"368\" height=\"257\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1007\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Alberto speaking<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Following worship we were invited to Pastor Francis&#8217; house for chai and chapatis.\u00a0 We were also served a goat, potatoes &amp; carrot stew with cooked cabbage on top.\u00a0 Excellent food, but I ate too much.<\/p>\n<p>After this visit to Francis&#8217; house we also went to visit Simon&#8217;s parents wo live nearby.\u00a0 She served us chapatis, chai and boiled potatoes in a thin liquid.\u00a0 It was good.\u00a0 They are a wonderful couple who have been married 48 years.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1008\" style=\"width: 382px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2010\/11\/lunch-at-Francis-house.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1008\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1008 \" title=\"lunch at Francis' house\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2010\/11\/lunch-at-Francis-house.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"372\" height=\"248\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1008\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lunch at Francis&#39; house<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2010\/11\/Alberto-speaking.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ekstrand?moderation_action=report_form&object_type=post&object_id=1001&width=250&height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we drove a couple hours NNE of Nairobi to visit the Kandara Covenant Church.
