Genesis 16: 1-6 NASB<\/strong><\/div>\n
Now Sarai, Abram\u2019s wife, had not borne him a child, but she had an Egyptian slave woman whose name was Hagar. 2 So Sarai said to Abram, \u201cSee now, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Please have relations with my slave woman; perhaps I will [a<\/a>]obtain children through her.\u201d And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.\u00a03\u00a0And\u00a0so\u00a0after Abram had lived\u00a0ten years in the land of Canaan, Abram\u2019s wife Sarai took Hagar the Egyptian, her slave woman, and gave her to her husband Abram as his wife.\u00a04\u00a0Then he had relations with Hagar, and she conceived; and when\u00a0Hagar\u00a0became aware that she had conceived, her mistress was insignificant in her sight.\u00a05\u00a0So Sarai said to Abram, \u201cMay the wrong done to me be upon you! I put my slave woman into your\u00a0[b<\/a>]arms, but when she saw that she had conceived, I was insignificant in her\u00a0[c<\/a>]sight.\u00a0May the\u00a0Lord\u00a0judge between\u00a0[d<\/a>]you and me.\u201d\u00a06\u00a0But Abram said to Sarai, \u201cLook, your slave woman is in your\u00a0[e<\/a>]power; do to her what is good in your\u00a0[f<\/a>]sight.\u201d So Sarai treated her harshly, and\u00a0she fled from her presence.<\/div>\n
