You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need, his generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus. Our God and Father abounds in glory that just pours out into eternity. Yes.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0-Phillipians 4:19-20 (The Message)<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>I\u2019ve heard the Abraham and Isaac story a hundred times.\u00a0 Any good church-going, Sunday-school attending kid would, right?\u00a0 Maybe it takes more than just hearing or reading the story once we get older.\u00a0 When we experience life, we need more than just Sunday school answers to wrap our head around things, yes?\u00a0 Maybe it\u2019s just me\u2026<\/p>\n<p>In Genesis 22 we read about Abraham and Isaac.\u00a0 We read some, but there isn\u2019t a whole lot of insight more than the words.\u00a0 It didn\u2019t talk about what the night before they set out for Mount Moriah.\u00a0 Do you think Abraham slept?\u00a0 Was it a restless sleep or maybe there was no sleep at all.<\/p>\n<p>Abraham obeyed.\u00a0 I imagine that even Abraham, a man loved by the God of the universe had to fight against anything natural in himself to just stay in bed that day.\u00a0 His heart had to just be aching.\u00a0 Even knowing the Sunday school answers (that God is sovereign \u201cEl Elyon\u201d, Lord and Master \u201cAdonai\u201d and \u201cEl Shaddai\u201d Pourer-forth) could he really go in to the day with unquestioning obedience?\u00a0 Even after Isaac asked him about the burnt offering, he tells him, \u201cGod will provide\u201d.\u00a0 Was Abraham pleading with God during that hike to provide, SOMEHOW, provide?\u00a0 But Abraham wasn\u2019t na\u00efve to who God was.\u00a0 He knew God, His character and the promises that surrounded Isaac.\u00a0 It begs the question that I wonder if he thought what a waste it would be to kill Isaac now.\u00a0 All that he had endured just for it to end like this?\u00a0 In Hebrews it sheds a little light on this subject.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hebrews 11:17-19:\u00a0 By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice.\u00a0He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son,\u00a0<strong><sup>18\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>even though God had said to him, \u201cIt is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.\u201d<sup data-fn=\"#fen-NIV-30191a\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NIV-30191a&quot; title=&quot;See footnote a&quot;&gt;a&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews%2011%3A17-19&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-30191a\">a<\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0<strong><sup>19\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead,\u00a0and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Maybe at some point he just realized that even if he was killed, maybe God would bring him back to life?\u00a0 At some point Abraham must have reasoned that God would indeed provide.\u00a0 What a welcome sound to Abraham\u2019s ears to hear a ram, caught in the thicket.\u00a0 What relief he must have felt.<\/p>\n<p>That place would forever be known as a place where God will provide.\u00a0 God provided for Abraham, He provided His only son for us who deserved death.\u00a0 He offered His son to die in our place.\u00a0 The ram for Isaac, the spotless lamb of God-\u201cwas the only provision of Jehovah-Jireh for the sins of the world\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>I remember a Sunday school song<\/p>\n<p>Jehovah Jireh, My Provider<br \/>\nHis Grace Is Sufficient<br \/>\nFor Me, For Me, For MeJehovah Jireh, My Provider<br \/>\nHis Grace Is Sufficient<br \/>\nFor MeMy God Shall Supply All My Needs<br \/>\nAccording To His Riches In Glory<br \/>\nHe Will Give His Angels, Charge Over Me Jehovah Jireh Cares For Me, For Me, For me<br \/>\nJehovah Jireh Cares For Me<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I checked out a little bit where provide comes from when it comes to Jireh. The literal translation means \u201cto see\u201d or \u201cto see to it\u201d\u00a0 Similar to what Hagar says of God in Genesis 16 calling Him, \u201cthe God who sees\u201d.\u00a0 Jireh can also mean in Hebrew perceive\u201d and \u201cexperience.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When Abraham calls God Jehova-Jireh, it isn\u2019t him saying it willy-nilly, selfishly to just ask to give me stuff.\u00a0 He is saying<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou see\/experience all this need of mine and make provision for it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is deeply personal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>God\u2019s provision and how that translates in to our lives is seeing and experiencing our need and having a provision for it.\u00a0 He cares.\u00a0 He cares enough not just to see your need, but also to provide for it in every way.\u00a0 It isn\u2019t always how we imagine, but it is done in a way that is <em>for us<\/em>, not against us.\u00a0 Yes, he cared enough about us to give His only son to pay our price of sin, but He also cares enough to provide for your daily needs in life.\u00a0 Nothing is insignificant and nothing is small.\u00a0 He cares.\u00a0 Just imagine what that means for a minute.\u00a0 He cares about wild flowers and sparrows, enough to provide for them, imagine the care He takes for YOU if he cares that much about birds and flowers.<\/p>\n<p>I encourage you friends to go deeper than just Sunday school understandings of stories in Scripture.\u00a0 When we face the messiness of life (because it WILL happen), we have to rely more on the knowledge of personal understand of God\u2019s character than the heady, logical, sometimes insignificant words and understanding we have.\u00a0 Our God is for us.\u00a0 Our God cares so much for us.\u00a0 He provides rams instead of death, He provides His own son in the place of sin.\u00a0 He care about flowers and sparrows and He has chosen you, He knows you, He loves you.\u00a0 When you call out to Jehovah-Jireh, it is more than just someone that provides, He sees, He cares and it is personal.\u00a0 Live in to Jireh and the significance of His presence in you.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a song that has given words to sing over myself every day (yes, it is on repeat that much in my house) to know that Jireh is enough.\u00a0 I know who I am in Him.\u00a0 May you speak these words over yourself today.<\/p>\n<p>Some quotes are taken from <em>To Know Him by name<\/em> by Kay Authur<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jireh | Elevation Worship &amp; Maverick City\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mC-zw0zCCtg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/delp?moderation_action=report_form&object_type=post&object_id=8495&width=250&height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>18-20\u00a0And now I have it all\u2014and keep getting more!
