{"id":7275,"date":"2018-03-16T01:43:08","date_gmt":"2018-03-16T05:43:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/delp\/?p=7275"},"modified":"2018-03-16T09:44:51","modified_gmt":"2018-03-16T13:44:51","slug":"loss-dear-friend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/delp\/?p=7275","title":{"rendered":"The Loss of a Dear Friend"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Kim and I lost a dear friend yesterday, Pastor Paul Thompson.\u00a0 Paul was a member of the Board of the Santiago Partnership but more than that he was the pastor of our Home Church, Northwest Covenant Church in Mt. Prospect, IL, the many years we attended there.\u00a0 He was the one who introduced us to Ecuador when he invited us to be sponsors on one of their Youth Trips there.\u00a0 That is where we fell in love with Ecuador and soon followed the process of becoming missionaries with the Covenant to Ecuador.\u00a0 You could say that we probably wouldn&#8217;t have ended up in Ecuador if it wasn&#8217;t for Paul Thompson.\u00a0 In total, he took something like 15 trips to Ecuador over the years as it was one of his favorite places, especially to show and teach others about.\u00a0 Paul has always been one of our biggest cheerleaders and emotional support.\u00a0 He also dedicated both Simeon and Esther at Northwest.\u00a0 For all of those who knew Paul, they would always comment on his love for life and love-for-others personality in which you always felt better after talking to him.\u00a0 He lit up the room when he entered.\u00a0 Kim and I will always remember him as a continuous example of unconditional love for others.<\/h2>\n<h2>He will be greatly missed by all of us as we await our heavenly reunion one day again.<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter
