{"id":6433,"date":"2017-03-31T15:44:51","date_gmt":"2017-03-31T19:44:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/delp\/?p=6433"},"modified":"2017-03-31T16:12:06","modified_gmt":"2017-03-31T20:12:06","slug":"called-deeper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/delp\/?p=6433","title":{"rendered":"Called Deeper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Called Me Higher - All Sons and Daughters Lyric Video\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FgAzLKXqcDk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Maybe it&#8217;s just me, but sometimes I unconsciously think that I&#8217;ve kind of paid my dues. \u00a0I tell myself, &#8220;I&#8217;m a missionary ya know?&#8221; \u00a0I have sacrificed, my family has sacrificed. \u00a0We live in a foreign land, we struggle in different areas, we miss family weddings and funerals and have to figure out creative ways to support family and friends from a distance. \u00a0I have said YES to the call God has placed on my life to GO! \u00a0I am here. \u00a0Some days I feel myself leaning towards saying to God &#8220;what else do you want?&#8221; \u00a0&#8220;Haven&#8217;t I given ENOUGH?!&#8221; \u00a0GEESH! \u00a0I am not saying this is what I SHOULD say, but, let&#8217;s be honest, I&#8217;m human, to the core! \u00a0I&#8217;m just giving you a glimpse in to how that looks some days.<\/h2>\n<h2>This whole last week, we had a dental team. \u00a0 There were some difficulties for sure and at the end of the days, I was so tired and exhausted (as well as the rest of the team). \u00a0I typically rode back to Cayambe with one of my friends and fellow missionaries, Annalea Egging. \u00a0Each day, she had the same playlist in her car and each day, no matter how long or how short of time we were in the car, the same song continued to play each day. \u00a0The main thing I liked about the song is that it helped me relax. \u00a0After feeling stresses of the day, I would just sit back and listen and talk some and just be. \u00a0However, it wasn&#8217;t until THIS week, when we were back home in Quito, going through our daily tasks, for me, I was washing the dishes and wondering about this song. \u00a0So, I listened to it again and again. \u00a0The main themes I pulled from this song,<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><em>And I could hold on<\/em><br \/>\n<em> I could hold on to who I am and never let You<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Change me from the inside<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>AND<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>But You have called me higher<\/em><br \/>\n<em> You have called me deeper<\/em><br \/>\n<em> And I&#8217;ll go where You will lead me Lord<\/em><br \/>\n<em> You have called me higher<\/em><br \/>\n<em> You have called me deeper<\/em><br \/>\n<em> And I&#8217;ll go where You lead me Lord<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Where You lead me<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Where You lead me Lord<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>I really felt like God spoke to me through this song. \u00a0It doesn&#8217;t matter what I have sacrificed to be where I am, God is calling me to go DEEPER with Him. \u00a0He wants more and although I may not like that always, that is what He wants. \u00a0He wants more OF me and more FROM me! \u00a0He isn&#8217;t satisfied with mediocre and I shouldn&#8217;t be either. \u00a0It doesn&#8217;t matter that I&#8217;m tired and that I&#8217;ve sacrificed. \u00a0Jesus did too! \u00a0He understands that, but calls me to more!<\/h2>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Here are some of the verses that this song is based around. \u00a0It was interesting to me when I read this that the 2nd verse, from Isaiah 6 is the passage that God called me with to full time missionary service. \u00a0It holds a special place in my heart and again, God is using it to mold me and direct my life.<\/h2>\n<h2><em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm+119:105&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">Psalm 119:105<\/a>:<\/strong> &#8220;Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.&#8221;<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=isaiah%206:8;&amp;version=NASB\" target=\"_blank\">Isaiah 6:8<\/a>:<\/strong> &#8220;Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, &#8220;Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then I said &#8216;Here am I. Send me!'&#8221;<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews%2011:8&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">Hebrews 11:8<\/a>:<\/strong> &#8220;By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.&#8221;<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2>In what ways, like Abraham am I heading out, not knowing where I&#8217;m going? \u00a0How am I going deeper and higher and allowing Him to change me from the inside? \u00a0Well, some days, if I&#8217;m honest, I&#8217;m not! \u00a0 I really don&#8217;t bring a whole lot, if anything to the table between God and I. \u00a0The great thing is He doesn&#8217;t ask me to. \u00a0He asks me to have the faith to trust that HE has it all under control, not ME! \u00a0I&#8217;m nothing, but if I come, come to HIm and allow HIM to change me and guide me and call me, we together can go deeper! \u00a0I pray that for all of you today!<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/delp?moderation_action=report_form&object_type=post&object_id=6433&width=250&height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maybe it&#8217;s just me, but sometimes I unconsciously think that I&#8217;ve kind of paid my dues. \u00a0I tell myself, &#8220;I&#8217;m a missionary ya know?&#8221;
