{"id":515,"date":"2010-11-01T18:26:15","date_gmt":"2010-11-01T22:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/delp\/?p=515"},"modified":"2010-11-26T18:26:29","modified_gmt":"2010-11-26T22:26:29","slug":"trip-to-the-coast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/delp\/?p=515","title":{"rendered":"Trip to the COAST!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had a great time on our recent trip to the Coast of Ecuador.\u00a0 We started out going to Santo Domingo-about a 3 hour trip from Quito, to the National Pastor&#8217;s Retreat for the Covenant.\u00a0 We stayed at the Covenant campground and had a great time meeting many pastor&#8217;s from all over Ecuador.\u00a0 Simeon as usual was a hit, especially with the other kids.\u00a0 One sweet little girl wanted to hold him the whole time we were there!\u00a0 We met a VERY important couple from Sweden-although we weren&#8217;t able to get a picture with them!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>From Santo Domingo, we traveled to Montecristi and Manta on the coast of Ecuador.\u00a0 We studied Monday through Friday at a school in Manta and toured the area a little bit. \u00a0MonteCristi is where the Panama hat was first made and continues to be made there! Of course we visited the beach-Simeon wasn&#8217;t quite sure what to make of sand, but ended up enjoying playing in it!\u00a0 He and Joel also chased crabs on the beach! Check out of Facebook pages for videos of it!\u00a0 It&#8217;s really funny! \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Joel was able to visit El Shaddai Covenant Church in Montecristi and was welcomed warmly!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We left on Saturday and traveled to Bahia where there is an island shaped like a heart.\u00a0 We traveled through the Mangroves of Isla de Corazon (&#8220;Heart Island&#8221;) as well as walked through them.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t find out until after the trip that there are\u00a0Boa Constrictors\u00a0there!\u00a0 YIKES!\u00a0 A good detail that Joel left out!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We praise the Lord for his safety and protection during our travel and for allowing us this opportunity.\u00a0 We ask for continued prayes for Kim in studying Spanish.\u00a0 This last week was a pretty difficult one in this
