{"id":2310,"date":"2013-03-16T09:12:16","date_gmt":"2013-03-16T13:12:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/delp\/?p=2310"},"modified":"2013-03-16T09:16:06","modified_gmt":"2013-03-16T13:16:06","slug":"the-prayers-were-felt-and-answered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/delp\/?p=2310","title":{"rendered":"The prayers were felt and answered!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, prayers were lifted up for us around the world!!! \u00a0Many of you received our email earlier in the week and prayed for us. \u00a0Our friends in Ecuador received and got word about our final interviews and were praying for us. \u00a0Here&#8217;s the God thing that happened yesterday. \u00a0The Covenant Church has a missionary prayer calendar in which two missionaries\/missionary families are prayed for every day. \u00a0Well, it <em>just happened to work out<\/em> that our day on the calendar came up yesterday so we had people all around the world who pray for Covenant missionaries praying for us yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Well, we felt the prayers! \u00a0Yesterday, we felt surrounded and were bathed in prayer. \u00a0The prayers paid off. \u00a0 We were both approved for recommendation to be commissioned as Long-term Missionaries, for Kim to receive the ministerial license of a Consecrated Missionary and for Joel to be ordained. \u00a0The reason that we are &#8220;recommended&#8221; at this point is because the Annual Meeting (which will occur in Detroit at the end of June this year) is the supreme, governing body of the Evangelical Covenant Church and is the highest authority for deciding on these things. \u00a0In the end, the vote at the Annual Meeting is more of a formality but an exciting one in that we will be approved by all of the churches in the U.S. and Canada to be missionaries of the church. \u00a0Pretty exciting, huh?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/delp?moderation_action=report_form&object_type=post&object_id=2310&width=250&height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, prayers were lifted up for us around the world!!!
