You may be wondering, now that we have finished reading When Helping Hurts, <\/em>what our opinion is\/was. \u00a0Well, we\u00a0DEFINITELY recommend reading it, and it’s not just for those in ministry positions, but for any Christian wanting to help those who are impoverished-whether in the U.S. or abroad.<\/p>\n

We would however, recommend reading it with a grain of salt. \u00a0Although there are some very important and applicable parts to the book, there are also some thoughts in the book that are a little ‘out there’. \u00a0Keep in mind these are recommendations and suggestions, NOT the Bible. \u00a0It is great that so much of this book is biblically based, however, it is NOT the bible and it is not the end-all, be-all of international community development.<\/p>\n

We really hope those reading this blog-especially those hoping to help those who are impoverished read this book.<\/p>\n
