I was wrong. \u00a0I deliberately slowed down to turn right on the yellow and then gunned it when it turned red. \u00a0We all know you can beat the cars getting ready to go…they are at a stand still if we have momentum. \u00a0Yep, I was so focused on getting in front of those cars that I didn’t see the Police Officer behind me. \u00a0I jumped when the siren went off. \u00a0Darn!<\/p>\n

Officer \u00a0“Ma’am…you didn’t stop on a red”.<\/p>\n

Jen \u00a0“Yes sir. \u00a0Here is my license and proof of insurance”<\/p>\n

He walked back to his car and I checked Facebook. \u00a0I figured it would be awhile for him to write the ticket and I wanted to see the score of the USA vs. Germany World Cup game.<\/p>\n

He had to knock on my window to get my attention. \u00a0He was only gone like 2 minutes…WHAT?<\/p>\n

Officer \u00a0“Well, Ma’am you don’t have anything on your record so please be more careful. \u00a0It is important to drive safe. \u00a0Have a nice day”<\/p>\n

Jen \u00a0“Really?<\/em> Oh, Ok…thanks?<\/p>\n

I drove away surprised. \u00a0I was clearly wrong. \u00a0I also questioned the clear record part…didn’t he see when I was 17 I rear ended someone on a icy slope in Oregon? \u00a0Didn’t he see the speeding ticket from Kansas coming back from a Colorado wedding? \u00a0Or how about….? \u00a0Well anyway…clearly I have a record. \u00a0I should have been punished. \u00a0He really didn’t see those things?<\/p>\n

Clearly this is an example of God’s love, mercy and grace for us! \u00a0God doesn’t see a record! \u00a0But God don’t you remember when I was 17 and…or when….or how about….clearly I have a record. \u00a0I should be punished. \u00a0God does not keep a record. \u00a0When we are forgiven…we are forgiven. \u00a0I am so thankful for that reminder today!<\/p>\n
