\u00a0Orlando&#8230;the land of dreams&#8230;Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, Parades&#8230;this dream ruins family relationships and checking accounts within minutes of landing.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t worry&#8230;our family is still united and our check book is just fine. \u00a0We KNOW what we are getting into and are prepared for it! \u00a0BRING IT ON!<\/p>\n<p>But let me tell you about the lady who broke Kelsey&#8217;s heart. \u00a0Rudel was taking the manly lead of getting the rental car so we, supportive and encouraging, took a small corner FAR away from EVERYONE and opened the snacks and a movie on the computer. \u00a0Near our little corner a lady was on breaking down on the phone. \u00a0Crying and requesting for whoever was on the other end to transfer money. \u00a0She needed over $430.00. \u00a0We don&#8217;t know if this was a tax on an inclusive trip or a rental car. \u00a0But the fact is&#8230;she didn&#8217;t have the money. \u00a0What she did have was a cart full of luggage and two kids under ten staring at her. \u00a0Within minutes we hear extremely loud voices around the corner and hear said lady screaming at an older lady. \u00a0They are exchanging profanities and then the older lady throws her backpack into the younger ladies face. \u00a0The two children watching in shock. \u00a0The younger lady grabs the black suitcase from the cart. \u00a0Throws it to the floor and storms off with her kids trailing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We don&#8217;t need Grandma&#8230;LETS GO!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Thus the lesson: \u00a0When you are tired and you have no money your stress level can turn you into someone and something that you never dreamed you could be.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We talked about four things while sitting in our little corner of the Orlando airport at 1:00 am. \u00a0We talked about wisdom in money, respecting our elders, being good examples for our children, and what could we do as the DeCastro family in this situation?<\/p>\n<p>Kelsey was really struggling as she watched the two abandoned mickey mouse balloons floating near the scene of the fight. \u00a0 A time of such excitement turned into such a fiasco. \u00a0We prayed, we talked, and then we went to find the young lady. \u00a0We didn&#8217;t know for sure how we would help&#8230;if we would just listen, if we would offer a ride, or if we would bless her with some finances.<\/p>\n<p>As Kelsey and I approached the lady she was on the phone. \u00a0We shamelessly ease dropped for a few minutes and then felt the release to leave. \u00a0 She had commissioned a taxi cab for a ride, told her children they didn&#8217;t need Grandma anyway and that they would just down size the trip a little.<\/p>\n<p>Kelsey still had sadness radiating from her deep brown eyes but knew that the situation was under control. \u00a0We are bothered \u00a0by everything we witnessed&#8230;.but the conversation with my children that night were priceless.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/decastro?moderation_action=report_form&object_type=post&object_id=221&width=250&height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Around midnight last night we found ourselves with about 200 other people waiting for our luggage in the Orlando, Florida Airport. \u00a0 We quickly followed that wonderful interlude with an hour and half wait for a rental car. \u00a0Soooooo&#8230;around 2:00 am we \u00a0were settled in our resort and reflected on the last two hours of &hellip; <a class=\"read-excerpt\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/decastro\/2013\/06\/if-you-want-to-teach-your-children-go-to-the-airport\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&raquo;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":122,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-221","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>If you want to teach your children...go to the airport!
