{"id":169,"date":"2012-03-29T13:29:37","date_gmt":"2012-03-29T18:29:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/decastro\/?p=169"},"modified":"2012-03-29T13:29:37","modified_gmt":"2012-03-29T18:29:37","slug":"when-your-children-touch-you-deeper-than-you-ever-imagined","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/decastro\/2012\/03\/when-your-children-touch-you-deeper-than-you-ever-imagined\/","title":{"rendered":"When your children touch you deeper than you ever imagined!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_170\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/94\/2012\/03\/IMG_3656.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-170\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-170\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/94\/2012\/03\/IMG_3656-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/decastro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/94\/2012\/03\/IMG_3656-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/decastro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/94\/2012\/03\/IMG_3656-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-170\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Duct Tape Pen Bouquet<\/p><\/div>\n<p>My two oldest children are at the age where they are realizing when something is hard or difficult for Mommy or Daddy. \u00a0They notice when you can&#8217;t open the door and they rush ahead to open it. \u00a0Or if you can&#8217;t find your phone they help you look with out even being asked. \u00a0If you get a troubling phone call they immediately wrap their arms around you simply for support. \u00a0Children are amazing. \u00a0I have been on an new and interesting journey of late called &#8220;fundraising&#8221;. \u00a0I am so humbled and overwhelmed when people give that it brings me to tears with every donation. \u00a0I am a tough woman who is not known to cry very much so this get their attention every single time. \u00a0If I am tearful lately they just nod and say &#8220;Mom, did you get a donation?&#8221;. \u00a0I love it that they think a $5.00 donation is just as cool as I do. \u00a0And when I got a $3400.00 donation they calculated how many video games that could purchase and then said it was so much better to help kids in the United States get encouragement through building projects, education, sports, and Jesus. \u00a0One video game or someones life is how they saw it. \u00a0I couldn&#8217;t be more proud! \u00a0So imagine how touched I was when my son received his allowance the other day and just handed it right back to me and said &#8220;Mom, can I donate to help you with MERGE?&#8221;. \u00a0I couldn&#8217;t even speak. \u00a0Fundraising has been slow and I am only at 19% after working for 5 months to raise money. \u00a0I have been praying for God to give me creative ideas&#8230;or any ideas at all. \u00a0I am at a loss of what to do. \u00a0Yesterday, my oldest daughter, offered me all her duct tape pens. \u00a0She said &#8220;Mom, you can sell them or give them away with MERGE cards&#8230;just at least try. \u00a0It&#8217;s all I have to offer &#8230;.but I love you and I think you can do it&#8221;. \u00a0(ok, I need a minute here!) \u00a0How amazing are my kids!
