It\u2019s been a long and lovely ride, going from being a young couple starting out on a big adventure to being grandparents.\u00a0 I still pinch myself sometimes at the wonder and joy of how our boys have grown up and no matter which side of the ocean we are, we are living next door to family.\u00a0 Right now we get to go to soccer games and practices, though I could have lived without hearing Josh\u2019s bones break from across the field, I was thankful that I was there and could take the girls while Kimia took Josh to the ER.\u00a0 We eat and play together, spur of the moment or long time planned.\u00a0 We do life together.\u00a0 It is delightful!<\/p>\n

Walking the Ancilla labyrinth on an impromptu long bike ride awhile ago<\/p><\/div>\n

AND we look forward to seeing our South Africa kids this summer!\u00a0 Can\u2019t wait to see these sweet faces in person.\u00a0 Sam and Anna will come the end of July, with Elaina and Sawyer, to get them set up with Anna\u2019s parents in Iowa, going to public high school, E as a junior, and S as a sophomore.\u00a0 When Sam and Anna return to South Africa, we will go with them and stay for 3 months, looking forward to being their next door neighbors for awhile.\u00a0 We are thankful for and blessed by our children and grandchildren.<\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
