{"id":6654,"date":"2021-06-05T23:30:26","date_gmt":"2021-06-05T22:30:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/?p=6654"},"modified":"2021-06-05T23:30:26","modified_gmt":"2021-06-05T22:30:26","slug":"joshs-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/2021\/06\/05\/joshs-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Josh\u2019s accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some of you have heard this news, but here\u2019s the story in a nutshell and the prayer requests.\u00a0 Josh was coaching 10 year old Maia\u2019s soccer team and decided to have a parents vs. kids game at the last practice, May 27<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 He accidently stepped on the ball and went down with his full weight on his right elbow (thankfully he\u2019s left handed), driving his upper arm into his shoulder blade and clavicle. His upper arm is fine but his shoulder is a mess, the repair of which was not something local doctors were willing or able to tackle.\u00a0 Kimia\u2019s family is blessed with 2 orthopedic surgeon friends, one living in Indianapolis, so they got excellent second opinions and a referral to a shoulder trauma surgeon with an outstanding reputation, there in Indy(about a two hour drive from us).\u00a0 After an appointment in Indy and lots of time on the phone and in prayer, Josh will be going in for surgery at 12 noon on June 9<sup>th <\/sup>, in Indy.\u00a0 We would so appreciate your prayers for a smooth surgery and healing.\u00a0 He has been getting out and walking every day, but he is tired of sleeping in a recliner.\u00a0 Thankfully his pain is at a minimum as long as he keeps his arm in a certain position.\u00a0 The doctors have okayed him to go back to work, summer school, I think it starts June 17<sup>th<\/sup>, so that&#8217;s a relief to them.\u00a0 He is to begin physical therapy about 6 weeks after the surgery, so we&#8217;d appreciate prayer for wisdom about vacation and travel around that time.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6662\" style=\"width: 615px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2021\/06\/blog-accident.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6662\" class=\"wp-image-6662 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2021\/06\/blog-accident.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"605\" height=\"476\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2021\/06\/blog-accident.jpg 605w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2021\/06\/blog-accident-300x236.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-6662\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">In the ER with two close friends, keeping him company as they awaited news of diagnosis\/prognosis\/treatment<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth?moderation_action=report_form&object_type=post&object_id=6654&width=250&height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some of you have heard this news, but here\u2019s the story in a nutshell and the prayer requests.\u00a0 Josh was coaching 10 year old Maia\u2019s soccer team and decided to have a parents vs. kids game at the last practice, &hellip;
