Yes, well, this IS an old photo of my stepmom, Ardys, but it’s one of my favorites.\u00a0 I love that she is proudly wearing a bead necklace made by one of her grandchildren; this was at the gathering for my dad’s memorial 10 years ago.<\/p>\n

Ardys is in the hospital.\u00a0 Less than a month ago she was functioning pretty well, on her own, in her apartment in Hemet, California.\u00a0 She has faded very quickly, shockingly to us, her family.\u00a0 She is on hospice daily visits as of this evening, Sunday 3\/21.\u00a0 I am thankful to be in California for other reasons, making it possible for me to be, in about a week, with my sister who has carried the burden of responsibility and could use a helping hand right now.\u00a0 Would you pray for Ardys, that God’s presence would give her peace.\u00a0 Would you pray for us as we face the no contact rule that so many have faced with loved ones this past year – it is hard to think of her, all alone, even though she is to the point of showing no reaction or response to people around her and she might not even know we were there if we could be there.\u00a0 Heart breaking.\u00a0 Thanks for your prayers.<\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
