What a heart wrenching time, saying goodbye to South Africa for awhile.\u00a0 We thoroughly enjoyed and our last times with family and just a few friends, stretching the lockdown rules just a tad.\u00a0 We drank in the beauty of God’s creation, especially the things we’re not likely to see in rural Indiana.\u00a0 Our hearts overflowed with thankfulness for the time we’d been given, for the ministries among the poor and hurting that we’d been able to do.\u00a0 We are thankful that this isn’t the last time we’ll be in South Africa.\u00a0 We hope to split our retirement years, every other year for each of our two kids’ families, only an ocean apart, Josh & Kimia fam in Indiana and Sam and Anna fam in South Africa!\u00a0 Thank you, each and every one, for supporting us and caring for us, for walking along side us and praying us through 42 years of life in Africa!<\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
