Under level 4 of South Africa lockdown, we’re allowed to take walks within 5 kilometers of home, only between 6-9 am.\u00a0 We’ve recently had some lovely walks along the coast, the Indian ocean stretching out to the horizon.\u00a0 I’ve been hoping to see the whales migrating, but it is a bit too soon; the locals say June is the main month for them to head north to warmer waters.\u00a0 We do see all manner of wildlife, including dassies\/rock hyraxes and this pair of wooly neck storks.\u00a0 We are grateful to have nature and beauty all around us, grateful for the freedom to enjoy, even for just a few hours each day.\u00a0 Level 3 begins for us June 1st, and we expect to be able to go out for walks anytime during the day, but I believe the 8pm-6am curfew will still stand.\u00a0 You can see that we are chilly – winter is upon us.\u00a0 As most of you who are reading this are heading into summer, we are getting out our blankets and jackets.\u00a0 Please pray for the unemployed and the vulnerable as they face Covid19 and\u00a0 the cold winter with few resources.\u00a0 If you would like to participate in donations of food and necessaries to those who are struggling, you can give through Abounding Hope<\/a>, our shantytown connection, or our church<\/a><\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
