{"id":6203,"date":"2020-03-30T16:19:51","date_gmt":"2020-03-30T15:19:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/?p=6203"},"modified":"2020-03-30T16:19:51","modified_gmt":"2020-03-30T15:19:51","slug":"corona-virus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/2020\/03\/30\/corona-virus\/","title":{"rendered":"Corona virus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, the virus is alive and well in South Africa.\u00a0 We are under \u201clockdown\u201d, only being allowed to venture out for food, medications, or banking needs.\u00a0 I have been to the grocery store, and the highway is pretty empty, with the stores functioning at much less than normal trade.\u00a0 That changes today, because right now, at the end of the month, the lines will be a mile long as people collect their pensions and grants and paychecks at the ATMs and grocery stores. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
