Just down the road from us is a learning center for special needs youth.\u00a0 It was established by the Duplessis’, whose daughter Megan was a very special young woman with special needs.\u00a0 Their search for the perfect site, a farm with a place for a school that their daughter could attend and still be “at home”, ended with a perfect solution after years of prayer.\u00a0 Sadly, Megan passed away at the tender age of 17 and never saw the school, but they continued with their vision, in order that others with difficulties could benefit from the learning center.\u00a0 It is run and staffed by some amazing people, and we have had the privilege at our Back 2 Eden farm to be involved with the center in many ways.\u00a0 Roy and Zweli have taught and planted there, and the senior class has come to the farm to volunteer and learn.\u00a0 This week they learned about different kinds of soils and composting, and they filled nursery sacks and planted seedlings.\u00a0 It is a gift to be able to share, however we can, with all who God puts in our paths.<\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
