Sometimes the CEFA cattle herd make their way from their pastures, through a left-open gate, across the bridge, and up the hill into the orchards.\u00a0 I ran into them on my afternoon walk, and there wasn\u2019t anyone around so I tried to herd them.\u00a0 It seemed simple.\u00a0 Get a stick and wave it around to get them to go down the road, back to their corral.\u00a0 Not simple.\u00a0 I only succeeded in getting them to crash into a nearby jackfruit tree, their being oblivious to the fact that the branches were down to their knees and not particularly yielding, just wanting to get away from the crazy lady with the stick I guess.\u00a0 The cattle herder\u2019s sons came soon after that and very skillfully got them walking down the road, not through the trees and bushes!\u00a0 \u00a0We all have our God given gifts, and I guess I\u2019ll stick to nursing and hanging out with friends without horns.<\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
