Our dear friend and ministry colleague, Paul N., is crazy about palm trees.\u00a0 He usually plants just those that are beneficial in some way, but he planted these beautiful, purely ornamental, Bismarkia palms at the base of the CEFA farm water tower.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

One of them recently succumbed to palm grubs \u2013 which ultimately rendered the tree a food source, for people and animals.\u00a0 Chickens were pecking away at all manner of insects around and in the fallen tree, and kids were digging around in the rotting trunk for those palm grubs.\u00a0 Grubs are kind of like durian, or say, tripe; some people love them and some, well, let\u2019s just say the gag reflex could easily come into play.\u00a0 By the way, Paul and Roy both enjoy eating grubs, though maybe not quite as much as durian.<\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
