We had a lovely week at Turtle Bay Resort in Watamu, Kenya, enjoying God’s creation and his love for us.\u00a0 Friends, worship, fun night, bible teaching, financial teaching – all added up to a wonderful time for us.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

When we left the retreat on Friday evening, we were taken to Kamal’s guesthouse, to stay the night, before our 8am flight to Yaounde the next morning.\u00a0 Josef, our regional coordinator, set up the overnight stay.\u00a0 What a surprise when we arrived to see a painting of friends from one of our home churches!\u00a0 We have prayed for Larry and Arlene Shipman’s missions trips to Kenya over the years, but we didn’t remember Kamal’s name, if it was mentioned to us.\u00a0 He apparently has been their host for about 20 years now.\u00a0 What a small world!<\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
