{"id":5493,"date":"2019-03-19T15:30:59","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T14:30:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/?p=5493"},"modified":"2019-03-19T15:30:59","modified_gmt":"2019-03-19T14:30:59","slug":"mom-is-91","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/2019\/03\/19\/mom-is-91\/","title":{"rendered":"Mom is 91!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This dear woman of deep faith has been such a blessing and influence on us all our lives.\u00a0 Her easy going nature and love for God, family and life shine from her.\u00a0 She and Dad are now 91 and still going strong.\u00a0 Mom suffers from Alzheimer\u2019s but she still knows us and she knows the Lord!\u00a0 She is still her sweet and loving self, and for this we are thankful.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2019\/03\/blog-Mom-91.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5494\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2019\/03\/blog-Mom-91.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"322\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2019\/03\/blog-Mom-91.jpg 450w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2019\/03\/blog-Mom-91-300x215.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I can remember a time that I was camping with the two of them, maybe 10 years ago, and I had stepped outside the camper to take a call from our daughter in love, Kimia.\u00a0 I had shared with Kimia how much I was enjoying being with the folks and that it grieved me to think that it might be the last time I would see them.\u00a0 I got a little teary as the call ended, so when I walked back into the camper, Mom &amp; Dad immediately asked what was wrong.\u00a0 I told them what I had said to Kimia, that since I was heading back out to Africa for a few years, this might be the last time on earth that I would see them.\u00a0 Mom immediately lifted her hands high, saying Hallelujah!\u00a0 We all laughed and I told them it would be all joy for them and sad for us all the same.\u00a0 Mom has been ready for a long time to be with the Lord that she loves and serves.\u00a0 \u00a0We celebrate her birthday,\u00a0love her dearly and carry her in our hearts and prayers always.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth?moderation_action=report_form&object_type=post&object_id=5493&width=250&height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This dear woman of deep faith has been such a blessing and influence on us all our lives.\u00a0 Her easy going nature and love for God, family and life shine from her.\u00a0 She and Dad are now 91 and still &hellip; <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/2019\/03\/19\/mom-is-91\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[212],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5493","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-family"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Mom is 91! We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
