While doing errands after teaching a bible lesson across the river yesterday, I ran into my sweet friend, B.\u00a0 I have known her practically all her life, and she has always been the huggiest, sweetest buddy for me.\u00a0 She has struggled with epilepsy all her days, and even though she\u2019s on meds, she still occasionally has fits that throw her willynilly, sometimes right into their cookfire or a pot of boiling hot liquid, and she has the scars to prove it.\u00a0 She lives with her widowed mom as a refugee in Cameroon, and I think they have no close male relative to look after them. \u00a0\u00a0We chatted and hugged for a bit, and then we parted ways.\u00a0 Not 30 minutes later she found me again, and pressed into my hand a gift she had bought for me.\u00a0 She said, \u201chere is some soap for you to wash your clothes with.\u201d Talk about being overwhelmed with someone\u2019s love and concern!\u00a0 She bought me something she knew I could use with her coins that she needed much more than me.\u00a0 Yesterday B gave me a much better gift than soap; she gave me a deep tug to my heart and a smile to last all day, yes even to last much longer than that.\u00a0 Would that we all could be so generous and loving.\u00a0 Please pray for B and her mom, that they would experience God\u2019s love to the fullest.<\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
