This time (the fifth big robbery in about 3 weeks’ time between the mission and CEFA farm) the thieves broke into our home while we were at church. \u00a0Some skinny, tall guy \u00a0used the anti-theft rerod bars on the windows as a ladder and squirmed through the small space between the roof and the wall under the eaves. \u00a0Our neighbors heard noise, called the sentry and came over to check and saw nothing wrong with all the doors and windows. \u00a0They thought the noise should have come from the outside, never suspecting it had been someone’s foot crashing through the ceiling. \u00a0Thankfully the thieves didn’t take any computers, cameras, hard drives, nor my iPhone etc., just cash, Roy’s wallet with just local currency in it (no IDs, thankfully) and a cheap cell phone. \u00a0They put a chair on top of a chair (see photo) to get out the way they had come in. Roy’s CEFA petty cash box took a big hit, and so did our peace of mind. \u00a0Thank you for your prayers, for all who have been robbed, and for those doing the robbing, that God would touch their hearts and lives.<\/p>\n

Our son was painting a verse on the lintel of his carport when they heard the news of the theft, and it is the perfect encouraging word for us – I am still confident that I will see the goodness of the Lord!<\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
