\"\"<\/a>Dave Feaver, from Modesto, CA, is here with us on the CEFA farm for about 2.5 weeks.\u00a0 He and his wife, Irene, and Irene\u2019s mother, Dorothy, have hosted us many times over the years when we have visited Modesto Covenant Church.\u00a0 Dave is also a member of the CEFA USA board, so it is way cool to have him see, first hand, what is going on at CEFA.\u00a0 He has been a good sport about everything so far, though I\u2019m not sure he would eat caterpillars if we served them.\u00a0 He has been to a nearby village co-op already and had tours of the CEFA farm\u2019s myriad projects, as well as tours of the mission station with its hospital, nursing school, pastors\u2019 school, and of course the Garden of Eden (the agroforestry orchard Roy planted when we first arrived in 1998.\u00a0 This coming week he\u2019ll be heading for an overnight to visit our colleague, BB, and his Fulani and non-Fulani friends and ag\u00a0 co-ops. \u00a0He has been tagging along with Roy, pitching in with whatever is being done, and in the in between times when Roy\u2019s in meetings, he might be found helping however he can, maybe sharpening knives or helping me sort through linens at the hospital. \u00a0It is a pleasure to have Dave in our home, to share our lives at the CEFA farm, all of which includes stories for hours on end.\u00a0 Of course.<\/p>\n

Dave, without the ability to chat, still connects with people – that is who he is!!<\/p><\/div>\n

Luke and Leanne Turk, two of our colleagues at the mission, also have a visitor, Luke\u2019s bro Tom.\u00a0 He\u2019s a doctor who has come to help teach at the nursing school.\u00a0 It was a serendipitous happening, that Tom, who speaks French, wanted to come at the same time as Dave, who doesn\u2019t.\u00a0 It sure helped Dave get through the airports on the way to Yaounde, Cameroon, to have someone by his side who understands what is being said!<\/p>\n

CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
