Roy was put on the schedule to preach last Sunday at a small church down the road. \u00a0The music was refreshing, with just this young boy playing the drums\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

and one of the women’s choir ladies playing a raspy beat with a punched up sardine can rubbing against a short length of raffia palm. \u00a0It was lovely to be able to hear the words and not be blasted out with amps connected to mikes and electric guitars.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Roy shared about saying no to temptations, saying no to the lies of the enemy, encouraging his listeners to believe in God’s provision and faithfulness.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This little church is sending their main youth leader to pastors’ school in a town about a day’s drive away, and they gave him a royal send-off, with songs, prayers, words of encouragement, and special offerings of whatever people could give – money, food, even a couple of nice shirts and some soap ended up in the bucket! \u00a0The youth took it hard, many were crying as they officially said goodbye to their friend and mentor.<\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
