It is rainy season!\u00a0 Friday afternoon lightning struck on the mission big time, frying the pump that delivers water from a deep well to the hospital, schools, and homes. Thankfully there was a reserve available (thank you Luke and Leanne Turk!) so there was only a short time without. It took out the Turk family\u2019s booster antenna for their internet system as well, and sad to say, they have no reserve for that.\u00a0 The big noise and lights were followed by an all-night soft rain of a little over an inch.\u00a0 Then Saturday came and it was the CEFA farm\u2019s turn for mishap.\u00a0 We didn\u2019t want to be left out! \u00a0A storm blew in and dumped for just \u00bd hour, with a little under an inch of rainfall, about the same as the day before but boy what a difference in delivery!\u00a0 Lightning lit up the inside of our houses with a big crash of thunder, and it turns out that our pump in our deep well got fried as well.\u00a0 The Turks had a reserve available for our well too, so we were not without water at the farm.\u00a0 Again, thank you so much, Luke and Leanne!\u00a0 Our satellite internet system got struck, but we have do have a back-up system that works sporadically.\u00a0 The father of the guy who installed our system came out to the farm this afternoon to troubleshoot the problem, and we hope to have a new component for receiving and sending from the satellite dish installed as soon as possible.\u00a0 We are thankful for friends who come to our aid and for parts that are available right now instead of having to wait to order from faraway lands. Our helper, Sylvie, was home, outside her house setting up buckets and pans to catch the rainwater off of her roof, and she got shocked up both arms, but she\u2019s okay now, so we are especially thankful that no one was seriously hurt.<\/p>\n
