Last month I shared a quote from Jonathan Edwards, about sin and confession, meaning only to emphasize my personal need to not judge others. \u00a0Our sweet brother, Tim, brought to my attention how negative that resolution appears and encouraged me to focus on the gift of grace. \u00a0I am currently reading Henri Nouwen’s The Return of the Prodigal Son with my email book study buddy, Susan, and the depth of God’s unconditional love and mercy\u00a0has been brought home to me in waves. \u00a0When you discuss the story of the prodigal son, the usual question is which son you most resonate with? \u00a0Nouwen addresses the usual, but goes on to encourage his readers to work their way through accepting the Lord\u2019s unconditional love as prodigal son and\/or jealous brother and then move on to become most like the father in the story.\u00a0 To become a person who welcomes, forgives, and loves deeply, a person who lives out grace, amazing grace.\u00a0 Yes.<\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
