Josef&#8217;s visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the weekend we had the privilege of hosting Al Tizon, Director of the Covenant&#8217;s\u00a0Serve Globally, and Josef Rasheed, Regional Coordinator for Covenant&#8217;s mission work in Africa. \u00a0It was a very special time, getting to know these two men a little bit better. \u00a0They are relatively new to their positions, and it is a joy to see how they are gifted in what they do. \u00a0We watched them in action, interacting with our friends and colleagues; from prayer to laughter, from listening to sharing their own stories, and their constant encouraging words, they blessed us. \u00a0Here they are in CEFA tshirts &#8211; the twins, Al on the left, Josef on the right. \u00a0We had a lot of laughs because, for some reason, I kept calling Josef Al. \u00a0I don&#8217;t know what wires got crossed, but it kept coming out of my mouth wrong. \u00a0I had to keep telling myself, Josef is the one with the beard!!!<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2016\/11\/blog-twins.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4161\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2016\/11\/blog-twins.jpg\" alt=\"blog-twins\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2016\/11\/blog-twins.jpg 450w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2016\/11\/blog-twins-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We visited Fulani friends in the town across the river, and our guests listened with heavy hearts as they heard the stories of C.A.R. refugees. \u00a0Josef was able to share the story of his pilgrimage, out of Islaxm, and I have a feeling that witness will be talked about among many, for a long time to come. \u00a0We are thankful for Josef&#8217;s openness and for the Fulani&#8217;s listening ears.<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2016\/11\/blog-Fulani.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4156\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2016\/11\/blog-Fulani.jpg\" alt=\"blog-fulani\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2016\/11\/blog-Fulani.jpg 450w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2016\/11\/blog-Fulani-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They were able to visit a nearby village ag co-op; We live on an experimental\\\/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. We live on an experimental\/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
