Oh what delight!\u00a0 To Skype (video chat on our computer) with our kids and grandkids, in Indiana and South Africa \u2013 WOW!\u00a0 This Gramdee\u2019s heart is full.\u00a0 We heard all of their voices, and saw most of their faces \u2013 we missed seeing Elaina and Sawyer in S.A., but we did get to see Sam & Anna for a bit before the connection wonked out on us.\u00a0 In any case, to hear and see these precious ones, what a gift!\u00a0 We are amazed at what the years have brought to us, when we think back on our first years in Africa back in the late \u201870\u2019s when we sent and received snailmail only and the turnaround time was minimum 6 weeks.\u00a0 We would send rolls of film home with friends going to the states, and we\u2019d only see the prints or slides when we ourselves went back to the U.S.\u00a0 What wonderful progress.\u00a0 We won\u2019t go into all the icky stuff that same moving along our timeline has brought, but we do proclaim that God is good and we thank him for these gifts!<\/p>\n

We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
