apartment building we lived in from 1975-1978. \u00a0Our kids, Josh &amp; Kimia, lived in the very same building on the very same floor, 20 odd years later! \u00a0It was brown then, and\u00a0we are amazed it still stands, in spite of its new paint job. \u00a0We keep hearing rumors that they want to tear it\u00a0down, but there it was, big as day, when we wandered around Davis this past week.<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2016\/01\/blog-Davis-days-gone-by.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3656\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2016\/01\/blog-Davis-days-gone-by.jpg\" alt=\"blog Davis days gone by\" width=\"448\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2016\/01\/blog-Davis-days-gone-by.jpg 448w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2016\/01\/blog-Davis-days-gone-by-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 448px) 100vw, 448px\" \/><\/a>I don&#8217;t know what happened to the quaint downtown Davis that I used to know. \u00a0Most of the little shops are now restaurants. \u00a0Sad to see. \u00a0I have to say there are still a few of the old favorite places, like the Artery (art gallery) and and a couple of book shops and a toy shop&#8230; We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
