I posted this fruit on Facebook, wondering if people would have the same difficulty I did. The responses were great, ranging from the expected plum\/eggplant\/fig all the way to huge bloated tics or gallbladders. This all came about because a\u00a0friend, Dave F., had popped in on us as we were at the dentist’s on Monday. \u00a0He didn’t have time to stay and visit, but he brought us some fruit. \u00a0He had told me on the phone the day before that they had ripe grapefruit and avocados to share with us, so I was excited. \u00a0I hadn’t had grapefruit in forever, and I love avocados. \u00a0When I got out of the dentist’s office and into\u00a0the car, I saw a bag full of grapefruit and a box with limes and these fruit in it. \u00a0I looked under everything for the avocados, but all I could find were these plum\/eggplant\/?? thingys. I was kind of bummed because, like I said, I love avocados!\"blog<\/a><\/p>\n

I asked Roy about it and he didn’t know. \u00a0Wait a minute! \u00a0The king of fruits doesn’t know what these are??? \u00a0When we got to my sister’s house, he bit into one (of course he bit into a strange and shiny fruit that was a total mystery to him!) and lo and behold, they were avocados. \u00a0Delicious. \u00a0Small and tedious to prepare because the skin is so thin, but we had some great guacamole.\"blog<\/a><\/p>\n

CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
