Alexandre, who learned beekeeping from Timothy Chapman last year, is busy harvesting honey. \u00a0They have to harvest at dusk, because that’s when the bees are most calm, as I understand it. He’s holding large pieces of comb which were harvested from a wooden hive Timothy had built and left next to his house. \u00a0Sorry I didn’t get Alexandre’s face – he has a great smile. \u00a0The honey gets squeezed from the comb and poured into bottles with the label “Anzerre a hon” which means beyond tasty in Sango! \u00a0It is yummy, and so much better than what is available locally, because the local stuff often is full of smoke and also watered down!<\/p>\n
