{"id":2757,"date":"2014-08-09T18:25:30","date_gmt":"2014-08-09T17:25:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/?p=2757"},"modified":"2014-08-09T18:32:26","modified_gmt":"2014-08-09T17:32:26","slug":"the-joy-of-giving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/2014\/08\/09\/the-joy-of-giving\/","title":{"rendered":"The joy of giving!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What a busy, unorganized, wonderful, heartwarming, mind boggling time we had this past week, sharing our abundance (special thanks to Encompass &amp; CWR) with our friends just across the river who are suffering.\u00a0 Even though the gift of cassava, peanuts, and dried beans was more of a token than a lasting gift, it was great to be able to say to our friends \u201cWe are giving you this because we want you to know you are not forgotten.\u00a0 God loves you so much and even though you were chased out of the country (our Fulani buddies) or you lost your homes to attack (Gbaya friends), we want you to know that we are praying for you and thinking about you and hoping for a safe return some day.\u201d\u00a0 Oh the conversations I had and the thanks expressed, over and over. Please keep praying for these displaced and hurting friends, and for peace for C.A.R.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2014\/08\/blog-gozo-gifting-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
