{"id":2486,"date":"2014-04-18T18:26:41","date_gmt":"2014-04-18T17:26:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/?p=2486"},"modified":"2014-04-18T18:26:41","modified_gmt":"2014-04-18T17:26:41","slug":"chief-ts-girls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/2014\/04\/18\/chief-ts-girls\/","title":{"rendered":"Chief T&#8217;s girls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What joy it was to see my buddy, Hajja Hawa, for the first time after our attempt to take her belongings to her a couple of weeks ago.\u00a0 It broke my heart and gave me pause when the first thing she said to me was that she was sorry for causing me trouble.\u00a0 SHE was sorry.\u00a0 Oh, Lord have mercy on us.\u00a0 The persecuted one is apologizing.\u00a0 May we all be so gracious and caring for others, taking the focus off ourselves.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2014\/04\/blog-ai-hawa.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2487\" alt=\"blog a'i hawa\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2014\/04\/blog-ai-hawa.jpg\" width=\"448\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2014\/04\/blog-ai-hawa.jpg 448w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2014\/04\/blog-ai-hawa-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 448px) 100vw, 448px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our regional coordinators and good friends, John &amp; Letha, along with Dave H., Covenant World Relief director and also friend, arrived from Yaounde to our town across the border in time to be in on our meeting with Hawa.\u00a0 We had a good time of sharing, over very hot and very sugary tea.\u00a0 It was sweet fellowship and it was very good to have our missionary colleagues understand first hand our Fulani friends\u2019 plight.<\/p>\n<p>This picture is a study in how troubles can unite people.\u00a0 Hawa, on the left is the youngest wife of Chief T (passed away last year), and Nandi, on the right, is the oldest daughter of another of Chief T\u2019s wives.\u00a0 They are my age, almost 60 (YIKES!!!), and they usually would NOT be sitting together like this.\u00a0\u00a0 Bless their hearts, in years past they had been enemies in the race for Chief T\u2019s attention, but trials have brought them together.\u00a0\u00a0 Pray for them, as they cope with all their losses and figure out how and where to live.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth?moderation_action=report_form&object_type=post&object_id=2486&width=250&height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What joy it was to see my buddy, Hajja Hawa, for the first time after our attempt to take her belongings to her a couple of weeks ago.\u00a0 It broke my heart and gave me pause when the first thing &hellip; We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
