As our little town and mission station remain a peaceful place to be, much of the rest of the country continues in a heart-sickening, evil, downward spiral.\u00a0 The news reports the conflicts and attacks and retaliations as Musxlim vs. Christian, but it seems to us, here on the ground, that it is more Musxlim (as a result of the Selexka being predominantly M) vs. non-Musxlim\/non-Selexka.\u00a0 Whoever the non-Musxlim machete troops are made up of, whether animists or atheists or messed-up Christians, the fear that runs through the very hearts of the people is starkly real.\u00a0\u00a0 This past week our little border town has seen many M\u2019s, mostly women and children, trying to cross over into the safe harbor of Cameroon.\u00a0 There has been a back-up of these friends as they wait for paperwork and processing and permission to cross, so we have had a golden opportunity to provide a cup of cold water to weary travelers.\u00a0 Their lives have been drastically interrupted, with pain and fear and sorrow and who knows what all.\u00a0 Our colleagues, Kim & Jan Cone, led the way for us to reach out with provisions and a bit of needed medical care, but most importantly, the message that not all non-Muslxims are out to get them, that there is a God of love wanting to be active in our lives.<\/p>\n
