{"id":1422,"date":"2012-06-26T16:24:53","date_gmt":"2012-06-26T15:24:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/?p=1422"},"modified":"2012-07-19T14:54:47","modified_gmt":"2012-07-19T13:54:47","slug":"midnight-snack-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/2012\/06\/26\/midnight-snack-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Midnight snack time!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We woke up at 1 am the other night to laughter and tinny clunks and lots of people noise. \u00a0It had just rained the previous evening, so the timing was right for the big termites to come flying out of their\u00a0subterranean homes and head for light. \u00a0Yes, light, as in the bulbs on our porches and around the mission. \u00a0Here are a couple of women, gathering the termites as they fall to the ground. \u00a0They often fall on their backs and can&#8217;t get turned over to fly again, so they&#8217;re easy prey for the receptacles that you see are getting full!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2012\/06\/blog-bobos-006.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1424\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2012\/06\/blog-bobos-006.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"418\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2012\/06\/blog-bobos-006.jpg 418w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2012\/06\/blog-bobos-006-300x241.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 418px) 100vw, 418px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2012\/06\/blog-bobos-001.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1423\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2012\/06\/blog-bobos-001.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"413\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2012\/06\/blog-bobos-001.jpg 413w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2012\/06\/blog-bobos-001-300x244.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 413px) 100vw, 413px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you can get your mind past the fact that you have a bug (ugh!) in your mouth, the are actually quite tasty! We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts.
