They\u00a0have been forced to leave their homes because of war,\u00a0violence, or persecution because they are of a particular\u00a0ethnic group or religion. In India some Christian tribes\u00a0have been forced out of their villages because of their\u00a0religion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STORY:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tuin is a refugee in her own country\u2014she is called an\u00a0Internally Displaced Person or IDP. She and her family\u00a0were forced to leave their home and are trying to make\u00a0a new life. The Hindustani Covenant Church is helping\u00a0Tuin and her family.<\/p>\n<p>Tuin and her little sister Rinki were sick when they\u00a0arrived, but thanks to the HCC health clinic they\u00a0are each doing much better. Rinki is among fifty-four\u00a0children who are learning the basics of education at the\u00a0HCC learning center. Tuin says her sister loves to learn.\u00a0The teachers are kind and Rinki also receives healthy\u00a0food at the learning center.\u00a0Tuin is learning to sew. She says, \u201cMy mom and I are\u00a0learning how to sew at the center.<\/p>\n<p>We are already\u00a0sewing dresses for ourselves and others. Being able to\u00a0sew will mean we can make money for our family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy father Dusa is a farmer. The Hindustani\u00a0Covenant Church leased land to my father so that\u00a0he and others could plant crops. My father sold the\u00a0crops at the market and made enough money to pay\u00a0for the land and have money for our family. I am grateful\u00a0for the help we have received from the Hindustani\u00a0Covenant Church. My family and I have made many new\u00a0friends and now we are a part of the church as well. My\u00a0favorite day is Sunday when we all worship together.\u201d<!--more--><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>REFLECTION:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What would it be like to be sick and not have medicine\u00a0or enough food to eat? Tuin says her little sister enjoys\u00a0learning. What do you enjoy learning about? Tuin says\u00a0worshiping on Sunday is her favorite thing to do. What\u00a0are some ways we worship God? Find India on a map.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pray for Tuin, Rinki, and their family. Thank God for their\u00a0health and for what they are learning.
