These include members of the\u00a0365 Covenant churches in South Sudan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STORY:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aney Majock Kur is a fourteen-year-old girl who lived\u00a0in the Upper Nile state of South Sudan. She was found\u00a0wandering in a deserted village. Aney and her parents\u00a0were separated while trying to flee the fighting between\u00a0warring groups. She hid until the fighting was over but\u00a0has not seen anyone for days. She could not even tell\u00a0her interviewers how and when the tragedy happened.\u00a0She was still in shock and suffering from dehydration,\u00a0since food and water were not available to her. She is\u00a0not sure whether her parents are alive or dead.<\/p>\n<p>Aney was brought to the refugee camp and left in\u00a0the care of a church elder. The Evangelical Church of\u00a0South Sudan (ECCSS) is working with Covenant World\u00a0Relief to help children who come to the refugee camp\u00a0without parents. Through the ECCSS and Covenant\u00a0World Relief, Aney will receive food, clothing, counseling,\u00a0and education while they search for her parents.<\/p>\n<p>There are many other children like Aney who arrive at the refugee camp daily and need our help and prayers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REFLECTION:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What are your thoughts about Aney? Pray for the fighting to stop and pray for those in the Covenant Church of South Sudan and Ethiopia who are trying to help children in need.
