MTI has been providing care to over 3000 people per week.<\/p>\n<p>MTI is focusing on transitioning to rehabilitation and development programs over the next 6 months. This will use funds donated to MTI to leverage further funding from Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance for projects that will use a large scale Water, Sanitation and Hygiene program (WASH) lasting 6 months serving over 10,000 families, 50,000 people in displaced camps in Leogane:<\/p>\n<p>i.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This project will be in the region where 80-90% of buildings were destroyed<\/p>\n<p>ii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This project will focus on training women as WASH representatives \/ agents in targeted communities to be trained in basic health promotion and hygiene standards and practices (hand washing, food and water storage, waste disposal), including training materials and supplies<\/p>\n<p>iii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This project will involve building a large number of latrines (potentially over 1000) and providing over 20,000 insecticide treated mosquito nets<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/cwr?moderation_action=report_form&#038;object_type=post&#038;object_id=543&#038;width=250&#038;height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MTI has\u00a0 sent over 12 teams and 70 medical professionals to Haiti\u00a0 and will continue to send specialized medical teams for mobile medical units for displaced people and in supporting clinics and hospitals.
