\"ssudan2\"The Evangelical Covenant Church of South Sudan (ECCSS) has been working to provide relief for refugees from heavy flooding in South Sudan.<\/p>\n

Over 2000 internally displaced people fled to a refugee camp after loss of their homes, food crops, and livestock.<\/p>\n

“The ECCSS is one of the national churches in the Republic of South Sudan which is known for its dual mission of serving both Physical and Spiritual needs of a person<\/em><\/strong>. Its aspires to see a society that is redeemed through the gracious work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; a society that is reconciled to God and its neighbors, and where all its spiritual, physical, and socio-cultural needs are met and all people are living in harmony, solidarity, equality, justice and peace.”<\/p>\n

The Evangelical Covenant Church of South Sudan began worshiping in 1997 and has grown to over 300 congregations, 53 ordained ministers, and 1000 volunteer preachers and evangelists. After the recent flooding a team of ECCSS staff assessed the need for relief efforts and gathered items to help support the internally displaced peoples (IDPs).<\/p>\n
