Hundreds of earthquake survivors are being fed hot meals at World Relief feeding centers in Port-au-Prince, Haiti\u2019s devastated capital.<\/p>\n

In the next few days, World Relief and local church partners will launch more feeding centers in the Leogane and Jacmel neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince, two hard-hit areas that have been slow to receive any emergency aid.<\/p>\n

World Relief\u2019s Disaster Response team is working alongside Haitian church volunteers, serving rice, beans and porridge to hundreds of Haiti\u2019s most vulnerable people in the aftermath of last Tuesday\u2019s cataclysmic quake.<\/p>\n

Our teams are also distributing tarps to provide emergency shelter for victims.<\/p>\n

Christian Compassion in Action<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hundreds of injured and traumatized victims are receiving urgent care at King\u2019s Hospital \u2013 one of the few medical facilities still functioning in Port-au-Prince.<\/p>\n

World Relief and partners have set up and supplied three operating theaters, staffed by American surgeons, doctors and nurses.\u00a0 King\u2019s Hospital has 300 beds for the most seriously injured.<\/p>\n

World Relief\u2019s Country Director, Dr. Hubert Morquette, and Dr. Esther Gwan, from World Relief\u2019s headquarters in Baltimore, continue to treat scores of people at the hospital, working around the clock in very difficult conditions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have treated hundreds of injuries as well as countless open and closed fractures,\u201d Dr. Morquette reports.<\/p>\n

Working with a local partner, World Relief plans to drill a bore hole at King\u2019s Hospital to supply clean water for patients and staff.<\/p>\n
