In honor of their centennial celebration, Redeemer Evangelical Covenant Church in Beloit, WI had a winning idea. They decided to contact the Green Bay Packers to obtain a donation item. What they received was a 2012 Packer’s team football stamped with the signatures of the players and coaching staff. Two church members, Clarence Plude, a woodworker, and Ed Flannery, a glazier, then made a stunning display case to house the football. The ball was purchased at a silent auction jointly by Pastor Chris Carlson, Dick Miller, owner of Stateline Copy Products, and Keith Perkins, church treasurer.  Each put forward 1/3 of the winning bid total and donated the ball back to the church for a fund raiser with the request that all the proceeds go towards Covenant Kids Congo powered by World Vision. A drawing was held at the centennial banquet on October 6th with a total of $2,000 being raised to benefit the children of DR Congo through the fundraising efforts and a special offering.
