{"id":1545,"date":"2015-06-21T09:33:59","date_gmt":"2015-06-21T14:33:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/clauson\/?p=1545"},"modified":"2016-10-11T20:46:15","modified_gmt":"2016-10-12T01:46:15","slug":"back-in-the-usa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/clauson\/2015\/06\/21\/back-in-the-usa\/","title":{"rendered":"Back in the USA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have arrived safely in MN and are settling into Erika\u2019s parent\u2019s place! \u00a0Thank you to everyone for your prayers for safe travel, especially in the midst of the<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1549\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1549\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/clauson\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2015\/07\/moving-day.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1549 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/clauson\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2015\/07\/moving-day-e1436106766222.jpg\" alt=\"Moving Day!\" width=\"300\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1549\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Moving Day!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Oaxaca teachers\u2019 protests that took over parts of the city, including the gas distribution plant. \u00a0On the day that Erika and the boys left, the protesters did close down the airport, but thankfully it happened a half hour after the plane had left. \u00a0Nils, with help of some friends, was able to move all of our furniture to a storefront that we are using as storage for our furniture for this next year. \u00a0And, in spite of the gas shortage, our friends\u2019 two trucks had enough gas to help with the move.<\/p>\n<p>We have so much to be thankful for, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sensing God\u2019s presence with us and the many demonstrations of His love for us as we said goodbye and left ministry and friends in Oaxaca. \u00a0Erika shares more in depth about this in two different blog posts: \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/clauson\/2015\/05\/31\/week-of-agape-feasts\/\"><b><strong>Week of agape feasts<\/strong><\/b><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/clauson\/2015\/06\/02\/mending-the-soul-brings-healing-to-men-and-women-in-oaxaca-mexico\/\"><b><strong>Mending the Soul brings healing to men and women in Oaxaca<\/strong><\/b><\/a><\/li>\n<li>God\u2019s protection and safety in moving our things and as we traveled back to the US.<\/li>\n<li>Being able to visit Woodcrest Spanish Immersion School two days before their last day and finding out they do have openings for the boys to attend next year &#8211; PTL!\u00a0The tour they gave us of the school was such a blessing, allowing the boys to envision what school will be like for them next year. \u00a0It was also exciting when the teachers and some students spoke to the boys in Spanish and to see all the artwork and signs in Spanish. \u00a0Plus, everyone who greeted them was very friendly. \u00a0We are so thankful the boys can attend this school.<\/li>\n<li>Having time with family! \u00a0It has been so nice to be with Erika&#8217;s parents and receive their love and hospitality. \u00a0We\u2019ve also really enjoyed having her sister\u2019s kids so close by.<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/clauson\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2015\/07\/cousins.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-1548 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/clauson\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2015\/07\/cousins.jpg\" alt=\"cousins\" width=\"400\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/clauson\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2015\/07\/cousins.jpg 400w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/clauson\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2015\/07\/cousins-300x179.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/clauson\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2015\/07\/cousins-250x149.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We look forward to seeing Nils\u2019s family at a reunion the end of July, and we did get to see his brother Andrew and his family briefly as they stopped in on their way to camping in South Dakota.<\/li>\n<li>Please continue to lift our family up in your prayers as we transition back to the US.
