We survived!

Many thought we were crazy (ourselves included!) to undertake an almost 4 week West coast trip with our two boys as part of our Home Assignment, but we are glad to have taken this special opportunity to travel as a family.  During the trip to California and Washington (with a stop in Oregon to visit Nils’ brother and family) we stayed in six different homes, visited eight churches, and participated in a variety of Bible studies, small groups, mission committee and church staff meetings.  We also had a few opportunities to see a few sights on the West Coast as a family (click to see some photos).  Yes, we were tired upon returning to Minnesota, but we enjoyed it immensely and feel quite blessed by the whole experience! Thank you for all of the prayers lifted up for safe travels, good connections and good health!

We enjoyed getting to know people and engaging in great conversation including some  tough questions about ministry here and in Mexico.  Thank you for the meaningful discussions related to loving our neighbor.  Thank you for your prayers for us and for allowing us to pray for you.  Thank you for the wonderful meals, coffee, laughter and the joy of sharing about how God is at work around us.  Thank you for sharing the pulpit and allowing us to share what God has put on our hearts.

Coming Up

We look forward to connecting with more of you during our last visits here in MN.  If you are in the neighborhood, please join us, and pray for these visits:

Sunday, May 9th:  Rice Creek Covenant, Shoreview
Sunday, May 16th:  First Covenant, Minneapolis
Friday, May 21st:  Thomastown Covenant, Staples
Sunday, May 23rd:  Evangelical Covenant, Thief River Falls
Sunday, May 30th:  Salem Covenant, New Brighton
We also invite you to celebrate with us as we will be consecrated as Long Term Missionaries at the 125th Covenant Annual Meeting in St. Paul on Sunday, June 27th at 10am.  We are so thankful to God for affirming our call to continue serving as Covenant missionaries in Latin America.  What a blessing to be a part of what God is doing around the world!

Peace in Mexico.  Violence has escalated in Northern Mexico, including Monterrey, in the last couple of months.  Our plan continues to be to return at the beginning of July, so we pray for peace in our hearts about this as well.

Final details to be taken care of in the U.S. before returning to Mexico:  passports, driver’s license, dental and doctor appointments, etc.
God’s provision for purchasing a vehicle.  If you would like to help us with this need, click here.
Good family times!  Celebrating lots of May birthdays (including Matias turning five)!
Blessings on each of you!  Thanks again for your friendship and partnership with us in ministry!
Erika, Nils, Matias and Lucas
