Having never made a table before, I picked my dad\u2019s brain a bit and then jumped into a new creative outlet \u2013 to test things out and learn in the process. Creativity is about taking blank, empty space and canvas and calling forth something beautiful. \u00a0Creativity is about taking darkness and turning it into light.<\/p>\n<p>And boy doesn\u2019t it feel like we could use some creativity in how we are living our life together.\u00a0 Folks who will make space to dream up realities that are not yet seen. People who bring imagination and have practiced the art calling forth beauty for beauty\u2019s sake.\u00a0 Communities willing to be vulnerable and take a risk to make something new&#8230; something that God will call good.<\/p>\n<p>I think the Kingdom of God is creative in ways beyond our imagination and in exercising and flexing our muscles of imagination and creativity, we start to get bigger glimpses of how God is working in the world.\u00a0 So whether it is painting or choreography, cooking or writing, playing dress up with our kids or throwing a pot, photography or giving space to daydream, let\u2019s choose to make room for creativity in our lives.\u00a0 And let\u2019s see how flexing those muscles of calling forth beauty and making space for imagination change the way that we live together.\u00a0 Let\u2019s see it change the way we parent and the way we partner.\u00a0 Let\u2019s see it change the way we engage in hospitality and how we see the stranger in our midst.\u00a0 Let\u2019s see it change the way we run board meetings and respond to emails.\u00a0 Let\u2019s see it change the way we care for the earth and think about future generations.\u00a0 Let\u2019s see it change the way we relate to money and how we practice generosity.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s let creativity become a spiritual practice, opening ourselves up to connect and learn from the One who created us in the process.<\/p>\n<p>We are whole beings and we were created to be creators and invited to participate in the building of a new Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>So how will you flex those creative muscles today?<\/p>\n<p>I made a table.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">In the spirit of celebrating creativity, I thought I would introduce you to a few creative folks from my circle.\u00a0 And with the holidays right around the corner, perhaps you&#8217;ll find the perfect gift for someone on your list you love!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/cjhoskins\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2018\/11\/il_340x270.1076607478_t383.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-943 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/cjhoskins\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2018\/11\/il_340x270.1076607478_t383.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"340\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/cjhoskins\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2018\/11\/il_340x270.1076607478_t383.jpg 340w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/cjhoskins\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2018\/11\/il_340x270.1076607478_t383-300x238.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 340px) 100vw, 340px\" \/><\/a>THREE LETTER BIRDS<\/p>\n<p>My friend, Jenny, has an Etsy shop where she sells her amazing hand-lettered work! We have much of her work in our home and she has helped us over the years with fundraising and mailing pieces we wanted to send out.
