{"id":69,"date":"2015-03-05T15:53:30","date_gmt":"2015-03-05T15:53:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/cjhoskins\/?page_id=69"},"modified":"2015-04-23T11:32:07","modified_gmt":"2015-04-23T11:32:07","slug":"about-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/cjhoskins\/about-2\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><strong>About our family<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We are four.<\/p>\n<p>We each love to read, draw, write, and create.<\/p>\n<p>We have mandatory weekly family dance parties.<\/p>\n<p>We love to hike and walk through cities and the country.<\/p>\n<p>We are learning that sometimes we all have to take a moment for deep breaths and count to 3&#8230;or 10&#8230;or 593.<\/p>\n<p>We value sharing life with many people from many different places, cultures, faiths, and walks of life.<\/p>\n<p>We yearn to search for and share our experience of God in the everyday activities of life; in cooking and hanging the laundry, \u00a0playing legos and\u00a0walking to school, in good conversation and shared cups of coffee.<\/p>\n<p>We value time around the table and offering space to share with others the struggles, joys, and concerns along the journey of life. \u00a0Hospitality is perhaps our greatest joy, in being both guest and host.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>About the ministry<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/iglesiadelpacto.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Evangelical Covenant Church of Ecuador (IPEE)<\/a> has invited us into a role that focuses on pastoral care and education.\u00a0 Currently, there are over 90 churches, 7 schools and numerous community development projects that make up IPEE.\u00a0 IPEE also recently began a new church planting initiative with the hope of starting 50 new faith communities in the next five years.\u00a0 IPEE leaders recognize that sustaining and supporting leaders is critical to the advancement of God\u2019s kingdom and IPEE\u2019s missionary task in Ecuador.\u00a0 While this is an exciting time in the life of the church, the reality of the responsibilities and isolation for leaders and their families can easily lead to a place of ministry fatigue and exhaustion.\u00a0 IPEE has asked us to serve in equipping leaders, providing resources, creating a collegial network, as well as crisis intervention, care and hospitality. \u00a0 We will be partnering with the seminary of IPEE and the <a href=\"http:\/\/iglesiadelpacto.org\/plandepesca\/comunion\/\" target=\"_blank\">Department of <em>Comuni\u00f3n<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(compassion\u00a0and unity).\u00a0 We are grateful to be able to be a part of IPEE\u2019s vision to support and care for pastors, educators, and development workers in the same way that they faithfully care for their communities.\u00a0 We invite you to join in partnership.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/cjhoskins?moderation_action=report_form&object_type=post&object_id=69&width=250&height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About our family We are four.
